WHY CONCRETE POSTS?
The smarter choice for lasting fencing
Concrete fence posts have been the professional installer’s choice for decades and for good reason. Unlike timber posts, which are vulnerable to ground rot, moisture, insects and UV damage, concrete posts stand firm through every season without the need for annual maintenance or replacement. At Insta Fence Ltd we install concrete posts as standard for all our residential, commercial and industrial fencing projects. Whether you are replacing an existing fence or starting from scratch, we will advise you on the right post specification for your ground conditions, panel type and required height and install to a professional finish, guaranteed
THE BENEFITS
Why concrete posts outperform timber every time
25+ Year Lifespan Concrete posts routinely last 25–40 years in domestic settings. Compare that to timber posts which typically need replacing every 7–12 years. | Rot & Damp Proof Concrete does not absorb moisture. No ground rot, no swelling, no warping even in the wettest Shropshire winter. | Pest & Insect Resistant Woodworm, termites and other timber-boring insects cannot affect concrete. Your posts remain structurally intact indefinitely. |
Wind & Storm Resistant Properly installed concrete posts hold firm in high winds. Their weight and ground embedment depth provide exceptional lateral strength. | Zero Annual Maintenance No painting, treating, staining or re-sealing required. Concrete posts need no ongoing maintenance saving you time and money year after year. | Cost-Effective Long Term Higher upfront cost than timber, but the lifetime cost is significantly lower. No repeat replacement, no treatment products, no contractor call-outs. |

HOW IT WORKS
Our Concrete Post Installation Process
| 01 |
Free Site Survey
We visit your property, assess the ground conditions, measure the run, check for underground cables or pipes, and advise on the correct post size and spacing for your specific requirements.
| 02 |
Post Specification & Fencing Quote
We provide a detailed, no-obligation quote including post type, depth of installation, concrete haunching mix and panel specification. No hidden costs, everything is itemised upfront.
| 03 |
Ground Preparation
Holes are dug to the correct depth (typically 600mm for a 6ft fence) using either a manual or mechanical auger, depending on ground conditions. All spoil is removed from site.
| 04 |
Post Setting & Haunching
Each post is set plumb, aligned and haunched with a concrete mix to prevent movement. Posts are checked for level and string-lined for a straight, professional finish before panels are installed.
| 05 |
Panel Installation
Fence panels, gravel boards and post caps are fitted once the posts are confirmed plumb and true. Gravel boards protect the base of timber panels from ground contact and moisture.
| 06 |
Clean Up & Sign Off
All spoil, packaging and waste is cleared from site. You inspect the finished fence before we ask you to sign off the job. We also advise on any future maintenance for timber panels.
Did You Know? Gravel Boards Make Your Wooden Panels Last Longer
When wooden fence panels sit directly on the soil, they absorb ground moisture and begin to rot from the base within a few years. Fitting a concrete gravel board (150mm or 300mm) below the panel lifts the timber clear of the ground, dramatically extending the life of your panels. We recommend gravel boards as standard on all our concrete post installations
